Sweet dog, Stupid dog

There is a blog out there called http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com and ally describes my dogs perfectly in hers. As I type this right now Pandora(dory)(stupid dog) is staring at a shiny spot on the ceiling as the Alanna reflects light off a dvd. Sigh.


She was a PAWS rescue dog. We got her after we put down our old dog Dementia. Dory was about 4 months old and her previous owners kept her outside on a chain from the time she born basically. When PAWS got her she had her collar growing into her neck and the people complained that she barked all the time. Well wouldn't you if you were locked up outside in hot weather with barely any food. I saw her precious little face and couldn't resist.


She is a mix of what my vet says are good qualities. She is part doberman, rottweiler and lab. I think she is beautiful. She will be a great dog. Just needs a bit more training.



Now Purgatory(purgy)(sweet dog) is the most wonderful perfect dog I have every had in my entire life. She is loving and gentle and just perfect. She lets the girls jump and roll on her and Alanna usually uses her as a pillow...all the time. She lets Dory hang off her jowls and rough and tumbles with her all the time. She really is the best dog!


I wish I had pictures of Purgy when she was a puppy. We got her when she was a just 8 weeks old. She was supposed to be Natalie's dog but Alanna has completely claimed her. She acts like a giant cat. If you stand next to her and she wants to be petted than she rubs against your legs like a cat but unlike a cat, that only weighs a few pounds, you have an 70 lb dog rubbing against you and most of the time you get knocked over. Purgy is smart as well. She is voice trained (won't run away when off leash) and can roll over, lay down, shake and bow

I can't believe my baby is going to be headed to Kindergarten next year! It seems as if she was just born yesterday.



She is doing such big girl things. She can add and subtract up to 5, she can say the abc's(and recognize the letters), count to 20, and is learning how to spell. I am so very proud of her. She was described as the teacher as being great at independent play and sweet. She was the one who actually said Mrs. Shapansky and Mrs Westland instead of hey TEACHER!!

I love this little girl and I can't wait to see what she accomplishes in kindergarten!!!

Oh boy

I went on Natalie's field trip to the Hands on Children's Museum in Olympia today. A whole lotta 1st graders and 14 kindergartners. Oh Boy! It was an experience. I must say that my group was awesome. It was made up of Natalie, a 1st grade boy, a kinder girl and a kinder boy. It was a wonderful mix. I laid down the law right away.

"Hi everyone, I am Mrs Miles and I am your group leader. I know we will have lots of fun but we need to make some rules. 1. your classmate is your partner and you need to keep them in site. 2. we don't leave leave any areas until we are all ready to leave. 3. if you break these rules then time out and nobody gets to play at all. Got it? Great. Let's go have fun.

I didn't have any problems at all. They were so great!

We ate lunch on the Capital lawn and walked around the Capital building for awhile. The kids were actually well behaved. I loved it. Of course I wish I had taken pictures. Oh well.

After all of this and a long bus ride back home I had to dash to get Natalie ready to go to a party. She was being picked up in a Limo and going to the beauty college to get her hair styled. Then it was back to the girls home for cake and ice cream. That girl had a busy day.
