Relay for Life 2010

This year I chose not to be the Team Captain of a Relay Team. I just got so tired of listening (mostly by word of mouth) how I didn't do the team right or that "THEY" could have done such a better job. So I basically said fine, do it yourself and was able to hook up with another team and walk 6 hours for them.

Relay for Life to Grays Harbor is what the the Susan G Komen is to Seattle. We take such awesome pride in raising as much money as possible for our rinky dink little poor town. I am proud to say that we were #1 per capita in 2009. That is amazing in such a little area such as ourselves.

Back to me. I walked the survivor lap with my mommy. She has been cancer free for 4 years now. I do want to smack her though cause she had thymoma cancer and she still smokes. Most people with Thymoma cancer basically get it because they have other diseases like multiple sclerosis....which my mommy also has. Okay...back to me again. The entire time I was waiting for my mommy to register I kept thinking...this feels so wrong that I won't be here the entire 24 hrs. I really want to be here. I knew I would be walking at the East County relay(the relay in GHC is so big they have to split it into 2 places at the same time) but it just doesn't feel the same way. So my buddy and I decided that we are going to have a team next year...be co-captains. We will not be with any company so we don't feel pressured to take on slackers. We want people who are willing to do the work and if you can't do the work...make us some money! GO TEAM P.M.S!!!! pap, mammogram, survive.
