post this wonderful blog about the birth of my second child...heck I meant to post one about my first born, but what can I say but I am lazy.
I got pregnant with Bug in August of 2003. I knew from the second week that I was pregnant and it was a wonderful journey. I loved being pregnant, as long as I wasn't tossing my stomach. I love watching her roll across the inside of my stomach. I loved how I looked when I was pregnant. I just loved her to pieces already. She was due at the end of May so I was very much looking forward to NOT being pregnant in the summer. It was my first and everyone was telling me about how it will take forever and the first one is always the hardest....THEY ARE RIGHT!
I became dehydrated and went into early labor on a Tuesday night. We called the doctor and they asked how close the pains were and had my water broke. The pains came and went and my water hadn't broken yet. They told me to stay home. So I spent all Tuesday night having contractions and all Wednesday having contractions with me walking up and down our road and having people rub my back. I had no appetite and hadn't slept. The contractions would be hard and fast for an hour and then I wouldn't have one for two hours. Very irregular. I couldn't take it anymore so we went up to the hospital (a hour away), to have them tell me I wasn't even close! So back home I went, where I spent Wednesday night and all of Thursday in more labor. Finally on Thursday night at 10 my water broke and we drove up to the hospital. I was checked and I was only dilated to a 2. 5am dilated to a 5, 2pm Dilated to a 7, Friday at 8pm dilated to a 91/2 where the doctor informs me to take the epidural so that my body can relax and sleep so that the baby can come out...otherwise I was having a C-section. I took the epidural and let me tell you it was heaven on earth. I just melted...All the pain that I had been having since Tuesday was finally gone. I just dozed off and on as I can hear my sister in the background say wow! that was off the charts. They had given me a drug to speed up the labor. About 10pm I tell the nurse that the epidural was wearing off and I really needed to push. So about 10:30 with a audience of 10 people, nana, grandma, grandpa, grandma, auntie, 2 cousins, hubby, SIL, and a friend, I began to push and at 12:30am on saturday out came Bug.
She was the cutest little thing with these huge blue eyes and this wild and crazy hair the stuck straight up. She still is the cutest little thing! It's very hard to believe that she is 4 years old and will be starting school next month. What happened to the wee little thing that I was able to cradle against my chest?
