Goober had a seizure, the full body type brought on by a fever. It is the scariest thing in the entire world. Bug had the cold on saturday, lasted 24 hours, was easy to care for. Then Bug wakes up and throws up and just has a 102 fever all day. I was able to maintain it around 100 and thought as long as it stays below 101 we should be good. Well, if a fever suddenly spikes to fast for the body they go into a seizure. It is the worse feeling to yell to your husband to call 911. She was shaking and her lips were turning blue and there is nothing you can do about it, but just pray to God that He would spare the life of your child. Bug was standing next to the couch telling her sister that she would be okay. The paramedics arrived, thank God we live next to the fire station, and Bug in her wisdom, asked Auntie if these doctors are strangers and shouldn't we not talk to them. Away we were whisked in the amubulance to our local hospital where we were taken care of immediatly. They assured us that these type of seizures are common and that she should be okay. Well, Goober didn't come out of the seizure effects as fast as they would have like so they did blood work and a lumbar puncture. My baby is so strong that it took Dad holding down her legs, me holding down her shoulders and head, one nurse holding down her elbow and the tech holding her hand secure just to put in an IV. It took 4 times. I couldn't be there for the LP. It hurt me to see it. Dad informed me though that when they were doing the LP her pacifier fell out. The nurse put it back in for her and she told him "Thank You". Even through all that Crap she goes through she still remembered her manners. The test all came back negative. She has an ear infection, that is what caused the fever. So we are on antibiotics as is her sister as a preventiver for possible bronchitis or pnemunia.
It's a fun day here. Goober still has a slight fever till the antibiotics work, I lay there watching her sleep waiting for another seizure. Once you have had one then the likely hood increases for another.
